Our child care program goes beyond the basic babysitting service others offer. We provide a gentle and loving atmosphere for children six weeks through kindergarten. We believe that by creating a nurturing, caring environment, you and your child can feel good about your time away from each other.
Your child will spend time in age appropriate activities under the supervision of our highly trained, dedicated staff. We follow your child’s schedule for naps and meals. We follow DHS guidelines to determine adult-to-child ratios: infant 1:4; toddler 1:7; and pre-schooler 1:10.

2011-2012 Block Time Registration
Registration begins Thursday June 16 online at 8am for residents of ISD 273. Non-district residents may begin registering Thursday June 23 online at 8am.
ECFE Sibling Care
When attending an ECFE parenting class, you may need care for your other child(ren).
- Care begins 15 minutes prior to the start of your ECFE class and ends 15 minutes after your ECFE class.
- We take children as early as six weeks old.
- Register for sibling care at the same time you are registering for ECFE classes.
- If you are due to have a baby during the school year and will need sibling care, please let us know the date you anticipate needing sibling care. (Infants are welcome in parenting class until 4 months.)
Block Time
If you want a few hours to yourself every week or to create an extended day for your child
- Block Time is offered on a space available basis
- Up to 3 hours a day, 9 hours a week
- Up to 4 hours a day; 10 hours a week (pre-schoolers only)
- You do not need to be registered for a class to use this service
- To extend your child’s day, sign up for extra time before or after their scheduled class
(children are escorted by EFC classroom staff to/from the child care center) - $25 non-refundable registration fee
- School Year 2011-12 Hourly Rates: Infants $9.00, Toddlers $8.50 and Preschoolers $8.00
- Block time may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment up to one week before the semester begins. Full refunds will be issued.
Block Time Child Care Cancellation Policy 2011-2012
If you decide to cancel your Block Time reservation, you must let the Edina Family Center office know by August 22, 2011 for a full refund (less registration fee.) After that point and through the first week of classes, there is a 75% refund. After the second week, a 50% refund. After the third week, a 25% refund. After that point, there are no refunds
Drop-in Time
To accommodate your child when something comes up at the last minute or for occasional activities. Drop in fees are non-refundable once the reservation has been booked.

- Infants $12.00/hr
- Toddlers 10.00/hr
- Preschoolers $9.00/hr
- Drop-in time is offered if space is available (minimum 1 hr)
- Up to 3 hours a day, 10 hours a week
- Up to 4 hours a day; 10 hours a week (pre-schoolers Only)
- Payment by credit card only
- You do not need to be registered for a class to use this service
- $25 non-refundable registration fee
- Tuition fee is non-refundable once it is booked
