WHAT'S NEW AT WG?

WG's 19th Annual Fabulous, FAMILY DINNER & Overnight LOCK-IN FRIDAY, FEB. 17! Once again members of our staff and about 70 of our favorite 4th and 5th graders will settle into the Edina Community Center for a full night of safe, supervised, zany fun times! You can count on: a pizza dinner, swimming at South View Middle School, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT (get ready for break dancing), at least one bouncer (giant boxing anyone?), and late-night Cops and Robbers. Please check see Special Events section above for details and a permission slip.
NO POTLUCK THIS YEAR. WG WILL PROVIDE THE WHOLE MEAL!

Working Hard: HOMEWORK TIME!

FULL DAY FIELD TRIP CHANGES
We have made some adjustments to our menu of full day field trip options. We have the great good fortune of being able to offer a trip to the Water Park of America on our next full day (Thursday, March 8)! Offering this event has created a "domino effect" of changes for a few of the subsequent full days. Please see "Full Days '11-'12" in the Special Events sections for all the details.

Our next 2 full days (March 8 & 9) have well over 100 kids registered already. If your family needs to add either of those days, please contact us ASAP, to ensure your child a spot on our roster. If you are registered but will not need the days, please let us know, too, so your family will get a credit and we will be able to open up room for additional kids. Thanks!

WG WILL BE CLOSED Monday, February 20, Presidents Day.
SCHOOL and WG will be back in session on Tuesday, 2/21.

SUMMER WG REGISTRATION
Starting with the SUMMER of 2012 we will be moving to a NEW ONLINE SYSTEM.

Registration will begin in early March and to get started you will need to set-up an online account. To set up your account now, please visit http://edina.thatscommunityed.com and use the Create an Account feature in the upper right hand corner.

Please note, that if you have accessed Edina Community Education for Adult courses, Youth classes, Family Center classes or 2012-13 K+(All Day K) registration in the past, your same account login and password will work for your KIDS Club/WISE Guys/SURGE registration.

HOMEWORK STATION! WG will offer a designated homework area, so kids can get their work done after school. The Homework Station will be open M-Th with help available from staff or our awesome high school volunteers. If families want to be sure thier WG attends the Homework Station on a regular basis, we have HOMEWORK CONTRACTS available for both kids and parents to sign. Simply see SPOTLIGHT sidebar above, print out a contract and send it in with your youth on his/her 1st day.

KIDS GOING TO BE ABSENT?
If your youth will be missing a day s/he is scheduled to attend WE NEED TO KNOW! Simply call our attendance line: 952-848-4270 or leave a note on our general email: wiseguys@edina.k12.mn.us. OR you can always call your home base supervisor. Details below in Contact Us section.

ADDING EXTRA DAYS?

If you need to add time at WISE Guys, simply call our attendance line at 952-848-4270 or email wiseguys@edina.k12.mn.usand let us know the day your youth will be adding. We will ALWAYS have room for one more.
