Behavior and Discipline
Behavior Plan
The Concord staff is committed to providing quality education to students in a safe and respectful environment. The school-wide expectation for all students is:
I will act in a safe and respectful way.
Concord has established the following school-wide rules to foster respectful attitudes, encourage safe behaviors, and set clear expectations. These expectations and rules help guide behavior in the school, on the playground, and on the bus.
- Be kind
- Listen
- Be safe
- Follow directions
- Respect people and property
Redirections and appropriate consequences will be applied when needed. Disciplinary actions may include:
- Meeting with the teacher or principal
- Detention
- Loss of school privileges
- Parent contact
- Parent conference with school staff
- Financial restitution
- Modified school program
- Removal from class
- Transfer to another school
- Referral to school, community, or other outside agency services
- In-school suspension
- Exclusion
- Expulsion
A violation of the district rule prohibiting the possession, use and/or transmission of a weapon will lead to the immediate initiation of the expulsion process.
Teachers review our expectations and rules with all students at the beginning of the school year. Each classroom develops a classroom behavior plan that follows the school-wide expectation and rules. This plan is outlined in a newsletter from the teacher and at the grade level Parent Orientation in August.
