Purpose
The purpose of the Concord Parent/Teacher Organization is to support and enhance the educational programs at Concord School and to strengthen the relationship between home and school.
The PTO coordinates many enrichment programs, organizes fund raisers, and plans several community events at Concord. Examples include the Book Fair and Gift Wrap sale in the fall, Family Night Out in the winter, and the Concord Carnival in the spring. All events serve to enhance a child's experience while at Concord. Funds raised sponsor programs such as Art Masterpiece, and Bravo and allow for the purchase of curriculum support materials.
PTO Executive Board
The PTO Executive Board is comprised of Concord parents and the school principal. Board officers include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Treasurer Elect, Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator. Each assumes responsibility for specific jobs over the course of the year. Volunteers for board positions are recruited in the spring. Interested parents should call the current PTO President or watch for the annual PTO Volunteer Form that is sent home with students.
Executive Board 09-10:
- President: Sue Puerzer
- President-elect: Pam Fischer
- Treasurer: Jen Faeth
- Treasurer-elect: Lisa Lauson
- Volunteer Coordinator: Melissa Kent
- Secretary: Katrina Cicala
Membership
Information about membership in the Concord PTO is distributed in September. Each family is invited to join the PTO. Annual dues fund the Concord Directory and help support other Concord School programs and activities.
Meetings
PTO meetings are held six times a year, usually on a Thursday, and alternate between morning and evening. Meetings often include speakers or a forum and are open to the Concord community. Meeting dates and times are published in the Crier. Topics and times are announced in the Concord Crier and posted on the school calendar.

Major Fundraisers and Events
Fall
Gift Wrap Sale
This annual fundraiser is held in September. Volunteers check orders, collect funds, and distribute the gift wrap.
Book Fair
Volunteers assist with set-up, clean-up or book sales during the event. Held in conjunction with the Fall Open House.
Winter
Family Night Out and Creative Arts Event
The evening provides a Theme Basket Raffle, food and participation in the Creative Arts events, which includes a student art display around chosen theme, and other arts activities. Volunteers assemble baskets, sell tickets, help with Creative Arts activities and sell food.
Spring
Carnival

Silent Fundraisers
Silent Fundraisers occur all year long and add several thousand dollars to Concord's budget which directly benefits the students with added equipment and supplies. For information about the five programs in which we currently participate, click here.
