Kindergarten Goals
- Identify all capital & lower case letters
- Identify sound corresponding with written letter
- Identify the kindergarten sight words: I, see, my like, a, to, and, go, is, here, for, have, said, the play, she, are, he
- Identify and understand rhyming words, beginning sounds, blending onsets, rimes and phonemes and segmenting onsets, rimes and phonemes
- Write simple words and sentences using sight words and phonics skills
- Uses appropriate sentence structure and mechanics
- Count by 1's to 115, 2's to 22, 5's to 110, 10's to 110 and backwards from 22
- Identify and create a pattern
- Understand place value in terms of tens and ones

Kindergarten Philosophy at Cornelia
It is our hope that each student will develop a love of learning and perceive him/herself as a capable, responsible, and valued individual. We wish to provide our students with a variety of learning experiences that are in alignment with quality standards.
The curriculum will be taught through a thematic approach. Skills will
be taught in context with a developmentally appropriate manner with an
emphasis on applicability to real life situations.

- 1 box crayons
- 2 bottles Elmer's glue
- 3 glue sticks
- 4 plain yellow #2 pencils, SHARPENED
- 1 box Crayola Fat Markers
- Watercolor paints
- 2 Expo dry erase markers & eraser
- 1 bottle Purell Hand Sanitizer
- 1 or 2 reams of white printer paper
- Miscellaneous art center supplies: sequins, pompoms, coloring books, stamps, foam pieces, etc....
- 1 container of sanitizing wipes
- 1 box Kleenex
- *$6.00 for portfolio supplies: binder, dividers, and take home folders
