Countryside Against HungerDay of packing meals with ImpactLives on Friday, February 10, 2012.Sign Up Here to VolunteerOn Fiday, January 20th, our students took part in a Countryside Pride Assembly to kick off this year’s Countryside Against Hunger (CAH) food packing event. They heard some very powerful stories about hunger that Ms. Fiedler and Mr. Monseth, Countryside teachers, had experienced. This is Countryside’s fifth year of raising money and packing meals for starving people around the world. Through this service-learning event our Countryside kids will learn how their efforts can make a positive impact on others around the world. **Please make any checks payable to ImpactLives. Ideas for fundraising may include extra paid chores at home or around your neighborhood, making money- saving choices and donating the money saved to CAH, or making or selling items to raise money. These are just a few ideas, and we encourage you to be creative! If each student raises $15 for CAH, we can meet our goal of paying for and packing 70,000 meals. If we reach our goal, Countryside kids will be able to feed 190 hungry people for a year! Donations will be accepted through your child’s classroom during the next three weeks. Please ask your kids what they are learning about world hunger and how they can make a difference. The $15 student contribution amount is voluntary. CAH welcomes whatever contribution amount works for your family. If you have any questions or feedback, please contact Lisa Bale (lbale@lifetouch.com) or Michelle Durrett (durrett@goldengate.net), CAH Co-Chairs.
