Go Green Committee - Recycling
Recycling reduces the amount of garbage sent to incinerators or landfills and saves energy because less energy is used to turn recycled products into “new” products. Recycling also conserves natural resources such as timber, water, and minerals and helps sustain the environment for future generations.
What items can be recycled ?
Paper and cardboard that can be recycled at school:
- Office paper, construction paper, computer paper, cardboard, flattened cardboard boxes, folders,
- Include phone books with your papers.
- Envelopes with windows or metal clasps are OK.
- Notebook paper, spiral notebooks (with metal binding), folders and computer paper are OK.
- Shredded paper should be put in a paper bag, do not use plastic bags.
Aluminum, Tin, Glass and Plastic that can be recycled at school:
- Aluminum cans, Tin cans,
- Glass jars, containers,
- Plastic bottles, with necks, marked 1 or 2- remove caps
