Shortly after midnight on Friday, October 5, district administration received notice from the Edina Police Department that an anonymous threat against Edina High School was posted online. The threat referenced an act of violence that was to happen at the school on Friday (today). Within a couple of hours of the posting, the police had identified the juvenile who posted the threat. They have the individual in custody and have resolved the situation. At this time, the threat is unfounded and the situation is under control. Classes at all schools will proceed as normal today.
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority and we take threats against our schools seriously. We are fortunate to have a strong relationship with our local law enforcement and appreciate the work they have done to identify the individual responsible for this threat in such an expedient and professional manner.
