His manager, Albert Peterson attempts to stage a farewell party for Conrad in which he is to kiss one lucky fan on the Ed Sullivan Show before he leaves for the army. Flowers For Algernon is an enticing story of, Charlie, a young mentally handicapped man, who chooses to undergo brain surgery that not only brings his level of intelligence up to a "normal" level, but pushes him into a level of genius.  The drama takes the audience through Charlie's experiences with family, friends, doctors and love as he becomes aware of the way in which he perceives his new world and how others treat him differently due to his newfound intelligence.  Charlie's life changes parallel those of the experimental mouse, Algernon, with whom he develops a close relationship and which forces him to confront some of the dire consequences that such a dramatic experiment entails.  Students perform this heartfelt drama in a way that will touch the hearts of every audience member.
