Purchasing Technology
Technology is increasingly being used to help Edina students and families accomplish the district mission of learning 21st century skills. In order to help promote the use of technology within the Edina Public Schools, District Media and Technology has implemented a wireless access to the Internet to allow any device that can access a wi-fi network and utilize a web browser to work within our Edina-Open wireless network.

Discounted Technology purchasing for Edina students and staff
We have worked with our computer vendors to provide preferential pricing for certain computers. Below are links to websites where Edina parents and students can purchase “recommended” systems. These recommended systems have been tested and will work within our instructional technology systems. Please note that technical support for these purchases are provided directly by the vendor.
When you order technology products or software from the CDW website, follow these steps:
- After you click on the cart click on the down arrow of pricing and choose whatever price is the least expensive.
- Continue click on the radial button for New Shipping Address and fill in your information for shipping to your house or school.
- Be sure and fill in your e-mail address so you will get notified when your product ships.
- Continue with payment method and print confirmation order.
- Apple
Please note: at the present time, devices such as the iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone have limited editing capabilities with our Edina Apps for Education site. Since Edina Apps will be one of the primary learning tools, we are recommending that students not use them as their primary learning tool. A netbook or laptop with wireless capabilities would provide a student with greater abilities to contribute content in a class. - CDW
