Kindergarten Plus (K Plus)

Edina offers two alternative educational options for students entering kindergarten: the traditional half-day program or the K Plus program. The aim of Edina's traditional half-day kindergarten program is to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth in a child-centered, developmentally appropriate environment. The K Plus program is a fee-based, full-day experience aligned with the current classroom curriculum for kindergarten students that will extend and enrich their learning. Additional information is available on the Kindergarten Registration web page.

Continuous Progress (CP) and French Immersion

In addition, Edina offers two programs of choice at the elementary level. They are Continuous Progress at Highlands and Countryside and French Immersion at Normandale Elementary School. These programs follow the same basic curriculum as our traditional neighborhood programs (with modifications for language), but differ somewhat in philosophy and instructional practices. For more information, please contact Dr. Chace Anderson, Assistant Superintendent, at 952-848-3900, or call the building principals.
