Edina High School
Edina High School
is a three-year public high school for Grades 10-12. Enrollment
is approximately 1500, with a senior class size of about 500 students.
The school year is made up of two semesters. Edina High School is
accredited by the North Central Association and has memberships
in the College Board and the National Association for College Admission
Counseling.
Edina High School has been rated among the top high schools in
the nation for many years. The curriculum, offering more than 140+
courses, emphasizes preparation for college. 94% of the students
pursue higher education. 90% of the students participate in extracurricular
activities. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students

Curriculum
The high school curriculum offers
a wide range of courses and alternative learning experiences and
is designed to provide a program to meet the needs of each student
while fulfilling district and state requirements for graduation.
Courses available include conventional courses, enriched courses,
and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The list of courses can be

Alternative Learning Experiences
Alternative learning experiences are
courses and programs of study that differ in content or instruction
from traditional courses. Some of the experiences occur away from
the school campus, some involve part-time employment, and some are
opportunities to provide service to others. Alternative learning

Graduation Requirements
The Board of Education requires a minimum
of 30 semester credits in Grades 10-12 for graduation. Most students
graduate with more than 30 required credits. Some students earn
as many as 36 credits. Required courses for the current senior class

Student Schedule
Edina High School follows a six-period
day where each class meets for 55 minutes. The regular student day
begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:10 p.m. Additional details about

Progress Reports
Families can follow their student's
progress through Edline,
an online password-protected site to access:
- student-specific reports, such as missing homework assignments,
grades and attendance.
- class–specific content, such as homework assignments,
test dates, calendar of events, and resources.
- general school information, such as news, daily announcements,
and upcoming school events.
Staff
Edina's high school teachers are professional
and caring individuals eager to help their students learn. They
are highly qualified and well educated. Most high school teaching staff have earned degrees at or above the
master's level. Edina's high school teachers provide leadership
in national, state, and local professional organizations.
Parent Organization
The Edina
High School Parent Council is a volunteer-based parent organization.
The purpose of the Parent Council is to provide information to parents,
to enhance the education of student, and to support the needs of
staff and students.

Language (ESL), and Special
Education Services (including Psychologists, Social Workers, Adaptive P.E., Assistive Technology,
Autism, Speech/Language, Occupational Therapy and Deaf/Hard of Hearing).
