Who may attend?
Children qualify for Success Center based on formal and informal assessments. The scores earned on the MAP and an individual assessment conducted by your child’s classroom teacher make a student eligible to attend.
Parents of qualifying students receive a letter inviting their child to attend, along with registration materials. For the child to participate, these materials must be completed and returned to the school.
Where do students attend?
Concord/Normandale students share classes.
Cornelia Elementary School students attend the Cornelia program.
Countryside Elementary School is home to the Countryside/Creek Valley/Highlands program.
Who can tell me about my child's progress in Success Center?
Student progress in Success Center is primarily gauged by improvement in regular classroom performance; therefore, your child’s classroom teacher can address this question. In addition, Success Center staff provides information to classroom teachers about participating students and can discuss with you your child’s work in the program.
Cost
The State of Minnesota provides funds for this program, so there is no cost to you.

Summer dates and times
Summer classes usually take place the first three weeks of August or thereabouts. Summer session 2012 is projected to run July 30-August 17.
Classes are held Monday through Friday in the morning. Each class lasts 1½ hour. Students participating in both math and reading attend three hours daily. Usually, reading runs 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., and math runs 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.; however, this is subject to change.
Parents of qualifying students receive a letter inviting their child to attend, a Continual Learning Plan (CLP), and registration materials that must be completed and returned to the school. Once registration is complete and classes formed, parents receive notice of the time their child will attend.
May my child attend Success Center only during the summer?
No. Funding guidelines from the State of Minnesota allow a student to participate in the school year program only, or in both the school year and the summer programs. Funding guidelines do not allow a child to attend only the summer program.
My child attends Kids Club; may he or she still attend Success Center?
Your child can attend if Kids Club and Success Center are in the same school.
My child attends Wise Guys during summer; may he or she still attend Success Center?
If your child attends Wise Guys at the Edina Community Center we encourage you to register him or her for Concord Success Center for the summer; check the appropriate box on the registration form.
